Mandra Lions Club (MLC), currently is implementing projects in seven districts of West Bengal, namely Purulia, Murshidabad, Maldah, Birbhum, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur and Bankura.
We are reaching out to 7 districts with all blocks and gram panchayet (an unit of local self-governance systems at the village level in India) and around 10 lacs peoples through our different projects on basic education, basic health, basic amenities.
Mandra Lions Club (MLC) provides relief support and extension in natural calamities. MLC has also provided food and drinking water treatment support to the AILA affected areas at Sundarban (South and North 24 Parganas) previously and now on draught affected districts in West Bengal. We took the job of measuring the status of malnutrition among children and sent the severe malnutrition cases for recovery under special care and to advocated Government with the information which ultimately moved administration to extend support.
We stretched our hands to the flood and erosion affected community of Murshidabad. Over there we extended food and tent support, boat service for emergency recovery of flood affected families. We had a long advocacy with government and media for which administration ultimately admitted that the area is affected with flood and extended some sorts of support. Stretched hands to disiltrate the wells of the community in scarcity of drinking water in the summer.
In the same manner we have extended our support to the destitute students with Books and study materials and food grains to the helpless dying families. Later we have linked.
